I Knew This Day Would Come.......

I'm short.......petite..........vertically challenged, whatever you want to call it. I'm 5' 2", maybe 5' 2 1/4" if I push it. I've never really cared that I'm short. It doesn't bother me and never has. I've always joked with people telling them that I have resigned myself to the fact that all my children would be taller than me. Myshel has been anxiously waiting for the day that she could say that she is taller than her mom. I knew that day was coming quickly, so I wasn't surprised when she insisted that we measure her. We marked her height on the wall and then mine. I tried hard to fight it, but she was definitely a good 3/4" taller. She had fun laughing and taunting me, but in the end, the last laugh was mine! I insisted that we measure Vance! In a couple months time, he had grown at least 2 inches! He not only had passed me in height, but had passed Myshel as well! Myshel was sufficiently humbled! So now 2 of my 4 children are taller than me. Just another sign that my kids are getting older and growing up way too quickly! At least the other 2 won't be passing me height anytime soon! So, I'll just have to appreciate that, that much more. (There's no pictures of this, because I'm not ready for the hard proof, just yet!)

Oh the tragedy of the feeling of being shorter now and then the kids growing up.

I have the same thing going on here. I have 2 sons that are way over my head and at my husbands now. My daughter is only 10 and people are already saying your getting as tall as your mom.

Yeah it the day comes huh, but were so blessed. But I will remind them all to NEVER look down on their mother. LOL

You know, at least yours are teenagers. Harmony and Ethan are only a head shorter than I am...and Ethan is only going into 2nd grade! I also just found out that my 12 year old nephew is taller than I am. So I know how it feels!
