Who Am I Talkin' To????

Chapter 1: Way back in the day......when I was in high school...........I remember people calling my house and mistaking my voice for my sisters, or vise versa. There were many occasions that I would answer the phone and hear, "Hey, Debbie" and I would politely say, "this is Cindy". People calling our house for me had the same problem. My sister would answer and they would think it was me. I even had one guy tell me that he couldn't believe how much we sounded alike and it freaked him out a little. I thought it was funny, but never really thought much about it.

Chapter 2: A friend of mine called our house awhile back. She was calling for Myshel actually, something about young women's I think. She said, "Hey, how's it going this is Sister _____, and continued on with her message." When I got off the phone I though that seemed funny, that she would call herself Sister _____ when she was talking to me. Almost immediately after I hung up, the phone rang again. It was her and she was laughing, she told me that she just realized after she hung up that it was me on the phone and not Myshel. She told me that she couldn't believe how much we sound alike, "it's uncanny" were her words, I think.

Chapter 3: Myshel's friends and (boy) friends call for her and when I answer the phone, they think I'm her. One of her girlfriends used to call and say, "hey" and nothing else, until I'd say, "Did you want Myshel?" and her embarrassed answer was alway, "oh, yeah, sorry". I guess it is really strange that we sound so much alike, but I guess I'm used to that since apparently I sound, or sounded, so much like my sisters. Myshel thinks it's hilarious. I wonder if she'll think it's funny when her boyfriend calls next time and says, "Hey Myshel" and I say "Hey, how's it going?" and we have a little conversation about "things". hmmm this little querk could have some fun possibilities.

It Was Just A Matter Of Time.....

I know it may come as a shock to some, but until just recently I hadn't read the Twilight Saga. I heard all about it from Myshel and many other friends. I knew what they were about, what the story line was from beginning to end....Myshel was very thorough when relaying it to me as she read.....I'd seen the movie..... I didn't have a huge desire to read them, though. Maybe it was because I knew what would happen, I don't know....... But, I decided after Chad read them, that I would read them too. I started on a Thursday morning and I finished 8 days later----the entire saga read----all four books----2,444 pages. (It helped that I was sick part of the week and could just lay around for a good part of the day and do nothing but read.)

And, of course, I loved it, loved them! After I finished, I went back through the books and reread different parts and then reread some more. I am impressed at how these books just draw you in and there's so much to relate to on so many different levels. I think I knew I'd love them, maybe that's why I waited so long to read them, I didn't want to be a Twi-Mom!(ha-ha) I teased Myshel about them for a long time, so now, I have to eat humble pie and admit that they are great and I love them AND I am soooo an Edward fan! So, come November 20th, I'll probably be waiting in line at the movie theater, at midnight, with Myshel and a thousand other women, to get into the first showing of New Moon! Because now, I am totally addicted to Twilight!

Tomato Garden???

I decided that since we have a little extra space at this house for a small (very small) garden, that we would start some of our own tomato and pepper plants. McKaylie helped me the other day while we waited for the bus. We already have some little sprouts coming up. We're just hoping that we won't be in Wyoming when they're ready to eat!

To Pierce or Not To Pierce?

A couple of years ago when we were in the mall, McKaylie almost got her ears pierced. She put a stop to it, when it was time for her to sit in the chair. She was very adamant about not getting them pierced from then on. I never really understood why she was so afraid, because she's had plenty of shots, not to mention all the dental work (and shots) that she's had done. We've had fun teasing her about it, though and her answer was always, "I'm NOT getting my ears pierced!!!!" in a near frantic tone.

So, you can image my surprise when she came to me about a week and half ago and told me that she wanted to get them pierced! She said that she'd been thinking about it and she just didn't think it could be any worse than the shots she gets at the dentist or doctor. (Hmmmmm I believe I've heard that somewhere before.......oh yeah, when I told her that!!!) Well, I let her think on it for a little while and since I needed to go to Portland yesterday, I decided that if she still wanted to get them done, I would take her out of school and bring her with me.

It was a fun afternoon. Chad ended up coming with us, too. I think McKaylie really enjoyed being an "only" child, even if it was only for half a day! She was soo brave, too. She hopped up there and barely flinched when they did it. I was so proud of her and I think she was really proud of herself, too. When she got home she surprised Myshel with them and like the great big sister that Myshel is, she oooo'd and ahhh'd over them and told her how beautiful they were, which made McKaylie feel even better! Here she is, pierced ears and all!

Sugar Easter Eggs

The kids and I decided to make sugar Easter eggs again this year. It's been a couple of years since we've made them. We had a lot of fun and they turned out very cute, I think. I brought them to my visiting teaching sister, too. One of the eggs in the picture isn't quite finished and later I realized that another one isn't even in this picture!
