"So Frequently we mistakenly believe that our children need more things, when in reality their silent pleadings are simply for more of our time."
***President Thomas S. Monson (Ensign May 1994)
After Christmas I talked McKaylie into getting her hair cut. I like her hair long, but it was always an argument trying to get her to brush it. I took her in later in the afternoon and got it cut. We were busy the rest of that day, so, I didn't really look at very closely. The next morning I did look at it, though. It was so uneven and just looked sloppy. So, back we went to get it fixed. I made sure that a different lady cut it the second time. After they wet it down and combed it, you could see that it was a good inch longer on one side and crooked all around the back. She did a good job fixing it, but it was much shorter than I had planned on it being. McKaylie looks good with her hair short, too and she likes it. I guess that's all that matters. This picture actually serves two purposes. You can see that McKaylie lost a tooth on top. It's the fifth baby tooth that she's lost, but the only one that the dentist hasn't pulled out. On Jan. 2nd the dentist pulled 2 more of her teeth on the bottom. So, she's now lost 7 baby teeth, but we've only gotten one out on our own. The dentist has basically had to pull the baby teeth to make room for the permanent teeth. Yes, I see many orthodontic appointments in the future for McKaylie.
This picture is for Grandma Jo. For Christmas McKaylie got this purse and it looks just like Grandma Jo's pug, Maggie, so, we had to take a picture and send it to her!
Since Nutmeg is our newest member of the family, we have to post some Nutmeg pictures. She's definitely captured our hearts. She loves to cuddle and wants someone next to her when she sleeps, even if it's just a quick nap. As you can see here. She's fall asleep when you hold her, just like a little baby. She'll come and paw at my leg so that I'll pick her up and then when Ido, she curls up and goes to sleep, even when I'm standing up and holding her!
These pictures don't show it much, but she is getting bigger! She's probably up to 4-5 pounds now! I know, I'm pathetic, but she's my little baby right now! I haven't gotten this attached to a dog for a very very long time.
I had to post this picture. Chad and his dad are setting up the pool/air hockey table on Christmas Eve. They didn't play a game that night, which surprised me, because Chad had been waiting and waiting to set up this table so that he could play. I think he was more excited about it than the kids. It's been a fun game to have, but we really didn't have a lot of room for it (short of leaving it in the middle of my living room..........NOT) so maybe Santa should have thought that one through a little more!
This was right before we sent them to bed, the first time..................... They left cookies and milk for Santa and oats and carrots for the reindeer.
Chad's parent's came out to spend Christmas with us. We loved having them here. We just wish we had more time with them. I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I should have, though.
Here's Grandma helping decorate cookies.
And Grandpa's kickin' back with Noah watching a movie on the portable DVD player.
