Giving Up the Dew.....

I'll bet that most people who know me, know that I love Mountain Dew. For those of you who didn't know that, I love Mountain Dew, I really do! Yes, it's bad for me. Yes, I shouldn't drink it. And yes, it's a bad habit (I have many, trust me!)

Habits.......they're so tough to break, aren't they? I wasn't very willing to give it up, or I'd give it up for awhile and then go right back to it. I suppose that's how a lot of bad habits are. But, it's not impossible. I decided a few weeks ago that enough was enough and I was just going to stop drinking it. Which may be harder than you think, because Chad loves Pepsi. It's hard to watch him drink Pepsi and I don't get my Mountain Dew. I decided to do it, though and stick to it this time. I was determined.

So, has it worked? Have a manged to kick that bad habit of mine? Yes, yes I have. And if you can believe it, Chad hasn't been drinking Pepsi either!!! He didn't think it was fair to drink it in front of me. (I didn't think it was either) I guess I can pat myself on the back for kicking one bad habit and then get to work on all the other bad habits I have.

How was the withdrawls for you? I was just curious. Was it hard for how many days. I know that caffeine is not the easiest of things to give up. And mountain dew is a tougher one. I am so proud of you though. Good job.

Honestly, it wasn't hard for me and I really didn't have any withdrawals. For me it was more just the habit of buying it all the time. I think I was really lucky, actually. Probably more that I was really blessed. Chad on the other hand got headaches for several days after quitting his Pepsi.

Way to go! I tried giving up diet coke ( well more than once) and got the worse headaches and so I keep going back. :( so I am way proud of you! And Chad too!

Good for you! This decision helped you AND Chad...what a great example you are! Every now and then I will crave Pepsi, but I don't give into it because it would be the start of having to drink it all the time. Caffeine Free Pepsi just doesn't taste the same.

Have a great weekend!

I never knew you were a mountain dew lover like me! I'm happy that you're able to give it up.... I guess that's the one bad habit I've not been ready to let go..=)

Cindy, you are so awesome! I am also trying to give up my liquid addiction (Pepsi). Now I have someone I can look up to and know that it is possible.

It's great to see what you are up to and that Chad is now in recovery! I think that their is a pre pre-teen thing by the way. I seem to be getting a lot of that from my class lately. I have the bad habit of biting my nails, let me tell you that can be hard to give up (especially when you are a military wife and have so much stress!)
